If you've wound up at my site the chances are its because you're a history lover and that's great because this is a place for history lovers. Ispyhistory plays on the idea that history is everywhere and you don't have to look particularly hard to find it. We all engage with it on different levels and find different aspects of it interesting and that's what I hope to demonstrate here.

I've since chosen to carry on the blog in the hope that it will continue to invite discussion both about my own encounters and views on the subject, but also those views of the people who come to read it, or contribute to it. We're a bit lacking on the comment front but I'd welcome them!
So, whether it be a critical analysis of a piece of popular literature, a recommendation for a museum visit or a review of a television documentary, all will continue to be posted here over the coming months. This blog has already proven to stimulate conversation and I hope it will continue to do the same.
History is such a dynamic subject and through the course of these blog entries I hope to argue that the default "history is boring" roll of the eyes response, need not be a typical one. Everyone can connect with an aspect of history it's just about finding it!
